OUR MISSION IS TO ACCELERATE IMPROVEMENTS IN STATE-WIDE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING THROUGH FOOD AND NUTRITION

The Kansas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (KSAND) is the professional association for 700+ dietetic and nutrition professionals who strive to optimize the nutrition, health and well-being of Kansans. KSAND is an affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the United States’ largest organization of food and nutrition professionals, with over 100,000 members. In 2017, KSAND celebrated its 80th Anniversary as a nonprofit organization.

Our members primarily include registered dietitians (RDs), registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) and nutrition and dietetics technicians, registered (NDTRs) that work in diverse settings. Examples of member practice areas include community, government and healthcare institutions, research, education, food service management, business and industry, students, entrepreneurial business, publications and other medias.

Our mission is to accelerate improvements in state-wide health and well-being through food and nutrition with a vision of a state where all people thrive through the transformative power of food and nutrition. In addition to promoting the value of the dietetic profession, we strive to support members through affiliation with the KSAND Foundation, multiple state districts, communication medias and ongoing professional development. KSAND is involved with nutrition-related public policy and is expanding consumer resources that promote healthy lifestyles.
