KSANDF Annual Scholarships
The KSANDF supports one (1) practicing dietitian scholarship and four (4) student scholarships each term.
Practicing Dietitians
DHCC Continuing Education Scholarships
Practicing KSAND member dietitians who are members of the Academy’s Dietetics in Health Care Communities DPG can apply for the $250 DHCC Scholarships (two), which support continuing education opportunities.
Requirements:
- Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Kansas designated Affiliate
- Practicing Dietitian or Consulting Dietitian
- Recipients must submit proof of purchase within 30 days of completion
- Must be a qualifying educational opportunity during the fiscal year
Preference: Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics DHCC Dietetics Practice Group (DPG)
Submissions Due: February 1 of every term
Student Scholarships
Student scholarships include the Vaden Scholarship, the McCollum Scholarship, and the Carrol Niles Henderson Scholarship, where recipients receive:
- Designated scholarship funds ($1,750),
- Free registration to the KSAND Annual Conference, and
- A certificate
The fourth is the Student Annual Conference Scholarship, which can be awarded to up to 10 students each term (five per conference), with the purpose of furthering their education through the Conference program.
Eligibility requirements for each Scholarship follows.

Vaden Scholarship Eligibility
- Students accepted for an Academy-approved internship who is a graduate of a Kansas college or university; OR
- Graduate student enrolled in a supervised practice program in Kansas; OR
- Graduate student in a Kansas college or university with the intent of practicing dietetics. Student must be enrolled in an academic program for the following academic year.
McCollum Scholarship Eligibility
- Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Kansas designated affiliate.
- Junior or senior student in an ACEND Coordinated Program in Dietetics in Kansas; OR
- Junior or senior student with a declared major in dietetics in an undergraduate program at a Kansas college or university (includes food and nutrition major who intends to pursue a dietetic internship).
