Kansas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation supports the mission of KSAND by funding scholarships for the dietetics profession. Funds are available to deserving students at all levels of study.

KSANDF Annual Student Scholarships

The KSANDF awards the Vaden Scholarship, the McCollum Scholarship, and the Carrol Niles Henderson Scholarship at its annual meeting each year. The deadline to apply for scholarships is February 5, 2021. Application packets must be postmarked by this date. Recipients will be notified in early March.

Vaden Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Students accepted for an Academy-approved internship who is a graduate of a Kansas college or university; OR
  • Graduate student enrolled in a supervised practice program in Kansas; OR
  • Graduate student in a Kansas college or university with the intent of practicing dietetics. Student must be enrolled in an academic program for the following academic year.

McCollum Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Kansas designated affiliate.
  • Junior or senior student in an ACEND Coordinated Program in Dietetics in Kansas; OR
  • Junior or senior student with a declared major in dietetics in an undergraduate program at a Kansas college or university (includes food and nutrition major who intends to pursue a dietetic internship).

Practitioner Career Development Grants

The KSAND Foundation is excited to announce the availability of Practitioner Career Development Grants, thanks to the generous donation from a KSAND member. The Grants of up to $150 are available for practicing RDNs and NDTRs who are members in good standing of the Kansas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics who want to expand their expertise or earn specialty certifications.

DHCC Continuing Education Scholarships for Practicing Dietitians

Practicing dietitians who are members of the Academy’s Dietetics in Health Care Communities DPG can apply for the DHCC Scholarships which support continuing education opportunities. The deadline for scholarship applications is February 5, 2021.
